El politetrafluoroetileno de GDT es una sutura quirúrgica monofilamento no absorbible y estéril, compuesta de hilo 100% politetrafluoroetileno y una aguja de alta calidad. La aguja está hecha de acero inoxidable importado, tratado térmicamente y afilado con láser. Las suturas de PTFE de GDT no contienen colorantes ni ningún otro aditivo artificial.
Las suturas son suaves y lisas, lo que les da la ventaja de moverse suavemente entre los tejidos sin traumatismos para el paciente, además de prevenir la colonización bacteriana. Las suturas de PTFE no irritan los tejidos y proporcionan un soporte firme al tejido durante el proceso de curación.
